[ His smoke lit with a thumb, Dabi takes a long drag, exhaling into the air between them. He's quiet for another long moment. ]
Lotta people do.
[ The nonchalant shrug that feels like it should accompany the remark, however, doesn't come. His eyes slide across to Shigaraki again. Maybe he'll acknowledge that there's a door there, with something on the other side. But that doesn't mean he has to open it.
He holds his hand out for the bottle again, instead. ]
[ Tomura's gaze flicks to the flame rising from Dabi's finger, and it's not long after that, that the smell starts drifting toward him. Normally he'd wave away the smoke, but he's not in the mood. ]
Most people just like to complain. You're not much a of a complainer, Dabi.
[He's curious, but in the end he doesn't really care. As long as the end results are the same, it makes no difference exactly why they're here. Tomura hands the bottle back, then slumps down in his seat a bit, wincing at how tight his shoulders feel.]
[ That's just kind of how it is anyway. Dabi doesn't talk about it because the more people who know what he's doing, the more likely someone or something is to get in the way - and because he knows that at the end of the day, there's no point. People want so bad for someone to care about what they've been through, they'll try to find it anywhere - in friends, in loved ones, in heroes. Because they can't face the simple truth: no one gives more of a shit than you're paying them to. He learned that early on. And just as Shigaraki says, he's not the kind of guy content to howl at the moon hoping someone, somewhere, comes to help.
No. He'll do it himself.
He grins sidelong, staples catching the light. ]
What, not feeling it? 'Scuse me for not being more entertaining.
no worries, welcome back!
